Fizz & Ferment Workshop
lead by BRENNA FROM House of Ferments
THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL
On Sunday, June 15, 2025 we are gathering at the North Shore & District Firehall to learn about fermentation with Brenna Phillips of House of Ferments. We will cover a range of fermented products that you can make at home, from krauts and veggie mixes, to hot sauces, and drinks like kvass, kombucha, and tepache. We will learn how to properly burp our ferments and use airlock lids.
The perk of this workshop is we will not be spending two hours cutting up veggies. We are doing the work for you so we can focus on more than one fermented dish. Each participant will get their own jar of fermented veg that we can then customize with a few foraged Spring ingredients. You will be given hard copy information to take home with you.
EAT & SIP ON FERMENTED THINGS
Fresh focaccia with miso butter, pickled Enoki mushrooms & crunchy radish
Beet Kvass & Pineapple Tepache
This event starts at 1:00pm and will likely run 2-3 hours.
You will go home with a fully fermented batch of veggies, customized by you with a sprinkle of wild Spring edible plants
You will learn how to safely burp gas from your fermented creations and how to use Airlock Lids
An Airlock lid will be drawn as a prize amongst the group
