Gather in the beautiful gardens behind the Indian Brook Fire Hall to try a snack, pick your tasting mug for the day and have a beverage. We will chat about some of the plants while making introductions.
We will deep dive into preservation methods and go over all the important tools you will want for your foraging or herbalism journey to flourish. Practical things in the kitchen, along with reasonable goals for your summer.
Customize your own infused vinegar with herbs and medicinal plants of your choosing. We will tell you how to care for it, when to use it, how to use it, and why we use it.
Learn how to make an oxymel. Learn the difference between hot and cold brews, how to make syrups, sugars and honeys, and let us get real nerdy about brewing beautiful beverages with florals and wild plants. Lets talk about the difference between using plants for flavor and consuming them for medicine as an introduction to Part II of this workshop, as well.
Food and beverages that showcase edible plants, or perhaps nibbling on the plants themselves! We will be eating throughout the event, as well as sampling beverages. These events are an experience of the senses.
