HERBALISM: PART I
PART I: Culinary Herbalism is all about eating your remedies on a regular basis, how to preserve your wild edible plants, how to enhance beverages and foods, how to forage, and what preparations one can try. We will leave with a vinegar infused with custom herbs and medicines and a full belly.
HERBALISM: PART II
PART II: Medicinal Herbalism will introduce you to using plants for certain health issues / goals, and the preparations needed to use plants at a medicinal dose. We will have a tea party, make a tincture, and will deep dive on our favorite medicinal plants.
PLANTS + SEAWEED
5th Annual Foragers gathering with Biologist, Sarah Robinson and forager, Jay Rawding. We will start at a coastal location doing a field walk and then back to Wreck Cove for lunch and digging through our personal apothecaries with participants. We will be talking about preservation methods and culinary uses for plants while eating and drinking PLANTS!
AUTUMNAL EQUINOX
A collaboration with Chef Fiona Lewis and Jay Rawding in Ayelsford, Nova Scotia. We will be savoring the last of summer by pressing the last of the flowers, sipping mocktails made from wild edibles preserved from summer, and eating several courses of beautiful food with foraged ingredients.
FORAGERS DINNER WITH BITEHOUSE
3rd Annual Foragers Dinner Party with Bitehouse, Cape Breton Island. The 6 course menu has a foraging theme and the dining space will feature tables of real local fungi, identified and laid out for examining. Handouts and prizes such as mushroom grow kits included in this culinary adventure!
